Student Profile-Khoy
My name is Khoy and I am 21 years old. I come from a farmer family with 6 children in Kampong Cham Province. I quitted my study at grade 10 in 2011 since my parents could not afford more for my further study. I was very keen to apply to study here to absorb knowledge and skills in tourism related field after hearing the training announcement.
Like what I expected, study here I acquired many important skills such as English, Computer, Cooking, Catering, Housekeeping and Hospitality. After 1 year of training, I am very surprise to see a big improvement within myself. I can communicate with tourists without any fear, I am confident to speak English! I can use computer fairly good after several month of training here. I also learn to live with different people, more patient and flexible. What I love the most about this project is it fully supports the poor to get concrete skill for prospective career in tourism industry. I am so glad that I was selected to work as a Receptionist in a boutique hotel in Ban Lung town after my walk-in interview during September. With this work, I hope I can save for my further education.
At the end, I would like to present my deep gratitude towards both donors and staff member who are very helpful, supportive and patient to guide and train all of us. Without them, I might not be able to get a good job like I have today.
